Blur or cover part of a video

Hide faces, license plates, screens, addresses or anything else you don't want to show. Blur it, pixelate it or cover it with a solid box, and write new text on top if you like.

  • No upload. Private videos stay on your own device.
  • No watermark, no sign-up, no daily limits.
  • Blur, pixelate or solid color, for the whole video or just a few seconds.

How it works

  1. Choose your video.
  2. Drag the box over the area you want to hide and resize it.
  3. Pick blur, pixelate or a solid color, and add text on top if you need it.
  4. Press Export video and download the MP4.

Common uses

  • Privacy: faces of people who didn't agree to be filmed, children, license plates, house numbers.
  • Screens and documents: passwords, emails, bank details or messages visible in a screen recording.
  • Your own branding: cover an old logo, phone number or price in your own videos and write the new one on top.

Three ways to cover

  • Blur: a soft, natural-looking blur. Turn up the strength for stronger hiding.
  • Pixelate: big square blocks, the classic look for faces and plates.
  • Solid color: a box in any color. Nothing underneath can be recovered, which makes it the safest choice for sensitive information.

Boxes stay in a fixed place. If what you want to hide moves, add a box for each part of the video and set its start and end time.

Please edit responsibly

Only edit videos you made or have permission to change. Covering someone else's watermark or logo to reuse their content can break copyright rules and platform policies.

Frequently asked questions

Can the blur be undone?

Not from the video file: the blurred pixels are replaced in every frame. For highly sensitive details, the solid color option is the safest, because nothing of the original area is kept.

Can I blur something that moves?

Boxes stay in one place. For moving objects, make the box a bit bigger, or add several boxes, each shown for a few seconds.

Can I add text on top of the blurred area?

Yes. Press “+ Text” after adding a box and the text is placed on top of it, ready to edit.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device. Your video is never sent to a server.

Does it work with big files?

Yes. A 250 MB video usually takes 1–5 minutes on a computer. Very large files are faster and safer on a computer than on a phone.

Is Kliprio really free?

Yes. Kliprio is free to use and is supported by ads shown on the page, never inside the tool or on the download button. There's no watermark and no account.
